Much of the EU's functioning depends on agreement between members, an intergovernmental feature it shares with most international organizations. However, it also has supranational bodies, able to make decisions binding upon member states. Important institutions and bodies of the EU include the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Council, the European Court of Justice and the European Central Bank. EU citizens elect the Parliament every five years.
With any sort of union, there will be members who are weaker in certain areas and stronger in others. In the European Union, many members worry that the richer nations will subsidize the poorer nations due to the high level of economic integration. Another worry is the immigration problem. Many more prosperous members feel that a sudden influx of people from less prosperous members would be undesirable.
Though the EU has become very strong and includes 27 nations, it also leaves some concerns. Because it is so highly integrated, citizens can move freely from country to country. Because of this free movement of people and capita there are concerns about the flooding of immigrants from less well off countries to more well off countries. There are also concerns that the Euro will lose value if economically disadvantaged countries try to join the EU.
What are some concerns with a highly integrated economic community such as the European Union? Even though the EU is 27 countries strong not all of those countries get along all the time. So it can cause tension sometimes between countries also what if countries go to war then the rest might have to choose sides so that causes trouble and then the EU won't exists after that.
Some concerns with a highly integrated economic community like the EU is that there may be weaknesses in the system. Since the EU is so large then people can move freely across the borders of countrys. This causes problems when there is too much importing into one country. When that happens then the country loses its own personal economy.
Some concerns on the European Union might face is. Corruption, disagreement, and jealousy.
Although the European Union is very successful in holding thirty percent share of the world's gross domestic production. Their intentions are good, but things will come to an end eventually.
