Some competition that exists today with they operating systems market would be like Apple vs Windows. Windows has 98, 2000, ME, XP, and Vista while Apple has only just a few that is not compatible with very many things.

Computer operating systems, whether micro or macro are largely between Windows and Apple. Most computers run Windows, which faces minor competition from Apple. One thing that is becoming more popular though, is Linux, which is a free operating system. It remains to be seen how this will affect the competition between Apple and Microsoft.

The major competition in the way of home computer operating systems is found between Apple and Windows. Apple, in the past, has been subpar with Windows. Though, with the creation of their new operating system Leopard, they're becoming an increasingly competitive contender to gain market standing. In addition to this, Windows recently came out with Vista, which has brought much dissatisfaction from loyal Windows users. As Windows tries to compete with Apple's sleek interfacing and computers, they're downgrading a bit on quality. Though, they are still more compatible, cheaper, and flood the market.

Major microcomputer operating systems are Microsoft and Apple. Apple has been around longer and uses the Mac system for their computers. Microsoft is fairly recent and uses Windows systems. Microsofts latest program, Windows Vista I feel is not as good as Windows XP. I feel it is too flashy and much more eye candy than needed and takes up more space one a computers drive than needed. Apple is good for its uses for schools, but not personal use at home. Other feilds that Microsoft and Apple compeat in is the music mp3 players. Apple has their line of iPods most recently the iTouch. Mircosoft has the Zune, a much larger and bulky object.

The most common competition in today's world is Apple vs. Windows. In almost every American household people have computers which normally consist of Apple or Windows (depending on the type of computer you purchase. As more updated versions come out you probably want to upgrade your computer such as windows coming out with the new windows 07'. Computer competition is very popular in this day of age.

What kind of competition exists in the microcomputer operating systems market today?

Supply and demand exist in the microcomputer operating system market today. As technology increases, and we would like to think our intelligence is increasing as well, however, we rely heavily on technology and computers to get simple tasks done. So if we, the consumer, need these, than the demand is going to be high.
