Something that I found on Google was a news story about a possible joint venture between Motorola, an American company and Nortel, a Canadian company. Both make cellphones and provide wireless services as well as traditional telephone service. They want to form a joint venture because a lot of their competitors have already done so, and Motorola especially is finding it hard to compete in a market with competitors who join forces. Motorola stock has apparently gone down 28% in the last year as a result. Nortel has a lot of the same problems and they feel that a joint venture would help both compete in the world market.
