A sole proprietorship in my community would be like Rock N Sports downtown. One guy owns the shop and makes all the decisions and runs the business. A partnership would be like the Computer Repair shop back behind The Zone and Sonic. Two females own that store and operate its business. A corporation here would be like Stahls. Its part of one bigger company that produces things. Many people own and run the operation of business.

We've got a large diversity of businesses in our community. One example of a sole proprietorship would be like Monetti's, a restaurant that is owned by the Monetti family. A partnership would be more like the doctor's building next to Sterling, which is operated by numerous doctors in different fields. A corporation would be like Wal-Mart, which has many owners through the sale of stock. The smaller businesses, like Monetti's value a personal touch more than they value large scale effiency or profitabilty, and thus a sole proprietorship is more appropriate. Partnerships, like the doctors offices, take advantage of the consumer preference to stop at one place for their needs, in this case, medical needs. Corporations can provide many products and have high profitability and so are suited to large, supermarket businesses like Wal-Mart.

A sole proprietorship in my community would be Java Junction, which is owned by the Ozias' family. An example of a partnership in my community would be a law office, such as Rahm, Rahm, and McVay. A corporation in my community would be McDonalds. Though it's harder to turn a profit being a sole proprietorship, Java Junction has a very personal feel and it's interesting to meet the owners of a business. A partnership in the way of a law office is a very smart business move, because it's difficult to handle many cases if you are running a law office on your own. McDonalds, obviously, functions as a corporation because it is part of a chain of corporately run restaurants. A corporate restaurant chain can set up many restaurants in many places and earn more profits.

A sole proprietorship located in warrensburg would be Thompson Productions LLC. This is probably a sole proprietorship because it is a small card shop that does not really need a lot of people running it equally. A partnership could be some of the doctor offices or accountant firms around town. Corporation could be any of the chain fast foods like Taco Bell or McDonald's.
